Friends and family raise over £800 in memory of Whitton United U9 player Vinnie Barker

On Friday 12^th April, a charity event was held to raise money for the Shine Charity.  Sadly, last June our Under 9 squad lost a treasured member of their team and for some also their class mate.  His parents advised that their chosen charity in memory of Vinnie would be Shine, a charity that initially was set up to help families and individuals affected by Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.

 

On the night we had entertainment by local singer Andre Smith and saxophonist Mike Owen as well as a mega raffle and auction.

 

On the night we had counted just over £800.00 to give to Shine, but with more donations coming in this could be increased.

 

Further events are being planned for the future to continue supporting not only Shine but also to Vinnie’s parents.
